An other successful training session, and the weather was kind to us.

This Sunday looks a bit damper, so come to training ready. Usual time and place. There will be a coffee cart this Sunday (they had a logistical problem last week) so something to warm you up. Look out for it.

Thank you all for continuing to provide your availability by end of Wednesday and for completing your symptom checker by end of day Saturday. Your cooperation is much appreciated. Please continue your fantastic efforts, you are making our life easier.

Memberships

The club is now keen to have everybody paying their membership. As you can imagine, this year will be financially tricky for the club, we can all help the club by paying our memberships as soon as possible.

If you are choosing to have a family membership, please please please follow these steps:

I know this is not the most straigh-forward process but if you do not follow it, it really is a nightmare for me to fix. Your help is much appreciated.

Tuesday evening training

We will start skills training on Tuesday evenings on the AGP (the astro turf in front of the club house) this coming Tuesday, 6th October, between 6 and 7pm.

Dates are:
Tues 6th Oct
Tues 13th Oct
Tues 20th Oct
Tues 3rd Nov
Tues 10th Nov

Membership

It is that time of the year again where we would ask you to pay your annual membership. To do so, follow the link you will find on the Maidenhead RFC website: https://www.maidenheadrfc.com/memberships/

If you are a new member, you will be asked to create an account for you and your child. Scroll down to ‘Get started’ and click on ‘Create account’. Follow the instructions on the right hand side of your screen and hopefully the process will be straight forward. If you have any question, please let me know.

If you are an existing member, sign in to your account. You will be asked to check your details and update them if needed.

Once you have signed in/created your account, you will have a few membership options suitable for you and your child:

  • Youth membership – £125
  • Family membership – £175 – if you choose a Family membership, please add every person to be covered by the Family membership in the shopping cart (click on Youth Membership for children and add and click on Family membership for adults and add). When you checkout, you will see that your total is £175. I hope this makes sense, shout if you are unsure.

I would recommend you read the specificity of both options. If you choose the family membership and pay before the end of September, you will be able to get your parking pass before last year’s pass expires (I have been told).

Any question, let me know directly and I will try to help.

Weekly training

As usual, please could you fill in the availability sheet by end of day Wednesday (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FsCh5wldchLWxWLrnoRb0pyp4-sqfXSrQJvEmyhIK_4/edit?usp=sharing) and the symptom checker (https://app.proactivereporting.com/covid19/form/YbslU5r8jewy7pvN) by 6pm on Saturday.

Thank you all.

Welcome back – 06.09.2020

A massive thank you to Gary, our head coach, and to all our coaches for running such a smooth first rugby training in a COVID friendly way.

I would also like to thank all the parents for following the new procedure. I know it is a lot to go through but it is necessary to ensure the children can play rugby as safely as possible.

Procedure going forward

Starting this week, I would need you to do the following before every training session:

If you were not present at training and have not sent me your rules of engagement approval, please do so before Saturday.

Feedback/comments/question

Feel free to send us any feedback about the training. If you have any question or any comment on how the session was run, please let us know.

As usual, don’t hesitate to contact me direcly on WhatsApp if you have any question (07595 491 339).

Brean hoodies

I still have quite a lot of Brean hoodies at mine. I would really like to get rid of them. I will plan to bring them over on Sunday and distribute them.

See you all on Sunday.

Return to play – 6th September 2020

Dear all,

After a long break, we are delighted to be able to start playing rugby again.  As Gary has explained, it will look different but the main thing is to get the children back on the rugby pitch in a safe environment.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, and before the children are permitted to play – we need every parent to do the following four things:

  1. Rugby Portal
  1. Rules of engagement agreement
  • Please read and complete the attached rules of engagement form (only once) and send back prior to coming to training. We can’t accept the form on the day nor as a hard copy. The form is also available on the portal.
  • If you cannot sign it and scan and return it, simply return by email with ‘rules form approved’ in the subject line.  This document only needs returning once, prior to your family’s attendance at their first session training.

Once the form is approved then there are the following two actions we need you to do before each training session

  1. Covid 19 symptoms check form:
  1. Pre-Match Registration
  • Pre-match registration – we would ask you to confirm attendance by end of day the Friday before each training session using the usual XL spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FsCh5wldchLWxWLrnoRb0pyp4-sqfXSrQJvEmyhIK_4/edit?usp=sharing
  • this enables us to organise the training session/coaches etc. If you have any problem with the spreadsheet, please let me know.
  • Please be accurate with this spreadsheet – no shows at training are a real issue this year because of the groupings and track and trace so it’s very important that the availability sheet is completed before the sessions on the Friday so that Gary can put together the training groups of children and coaches and so that I can check that every child training has also had the symptoms form completed too.  Without both we are unable to let children join the sessions.
  • In the event of your child falling ill on a Sunday morning and being unable to attend – please let myself and Gary know directly through the whatsapp channel.

The weekly training session will start at 10 and will last 75 minutes, with a break every 15 minutes to sanitise equipment and hands.

You will need to bring your own hand gel and water bottle for the children to use at each break.

As for every gathering at the moment, we will also ask you to respect social distancing rules.

I have every faith we can make this work all together.

Any question, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thanks a lot

Cathy
